Visas for travel to South Korea - application information
Citizens of some countries, including Indonesia and Mongolia, need a visa to travel to South Korea for AISA events in Seoul or Busan. Students and families: You must get the visa on your own; it is your responsibility. The SOIS activities director's office does not have expertise in obtaining visas. Do not delay; start the process 4 weeks before departure. Please communicate with Mr. Heimer.

Visas for travel to China - application information
Non-Japanese SOIS students and teachers traveling to China need a visa to enter the country. (If you have a Japanese passport, you do not need a visa.)

Prepare all documents and submit them together at one time to the AD office.
Application form special instructions
- Visa application form (partially completed writeable PDF; input info electronically into the form and print it, or print the form and fill it out by hand)
- Passport (your actual passport; must have at least 6 months' validity from the final date of the trip to China)
- Father's passport photocopy (color photocopy of picture page)
- Photo (color; white background; 4 x 3 cm; print name on back; paperclip to form)
- Residence card 在留カード zairyuu ka-do (color photocopy of both sides of the card)
- Registry of current residential address 住民票 juumin-hyou (with both applicant's and father's names; original document obtained in person from your local city office after showing your residence card - a few hundred yen, received within a few minutes)
Application form special instructions
- IMPORTANT: Please look at the "Sabers Sample" form for detailed instructions. Items highlighted in GREEN should be completed by you, the applicant. Items highlighted in PINK are already completed on the form, or should be left blank. (If not completed, please complete them as shown on the sample form.) You may have to change the dates.
- Writeable PDF - please input answers electronically into the form and print it, or print the form first and fill it out by hand.
- The visa application form linked to above is partially filled out with information that applies to all SOIS applicants (highlighted in pink). But you need to fill out other parts (highlighted in green), such as your home address and phone numbers at the top of page 2. You may have to change the dates.
- We will leave much of the form blank; the travel agency will fill in some parts for us.
- Photo: color photo with white background; 4 x 3 cm; print name on back; paper clip to form (no glue or tape).
- 1.9 Local ID/Citizenship number: Input your residence card 在留カード zairyuu ka-do number.
- Itinerary and Inviter sections: other than the date, please leave blank.
- Father's and mother's occupations: please use general terms like "businessman" or "housewife".
- When finished, print out the form and then sign and date it in pen (Part 4, page 4) where it says "Applicant's signature...............".
- For all SOIS applicants (even if you are 18 years old), the father also must sign his name above the child's name and write "(father)" next to his signature.
- Ignore part 5.
- Sample visa application form - Japanese version (with sample answers; for reference; no need to print out or submit)
- Bring the printed and signed application form (and your passport, a color photocopy of your father's passport, a color photo, a color photocopy of your residence card, and your original juumin-hyou) to Mr. Heimer.
