Get ready to shoot hoops! Basketball practice starts Tuesday, January 9 after school. It will be a full practice so bring your gym shoes, workout clothes and water bottle to school on Tuesday. The gym is cold so bring a sweatshirt. We will start at 3:45 and finish at 5:45. There are no games this weekend.
Practice will start in early January. Just because practice doesn't start until after the holidays doesn't mean you can't start getting ready for basketball season. Use your free time to work on important skills to get better. Look at this checklist of basketball skills. As soon as you master one, move on to the next. There are links to some videos to help you get started. For example, this video teaches you the basics of dribbling. Can you already dribble properly with both hands? Watch this video for some drills that will make you better. Want more? There are other skills and videos on the checklist. Have a look and get better at basketball! See you at practice in January.
Congratulations, Sabers girls basketball team, on a great second place finish at the 2017 AISA championship tournament in Yokohama. Leona Benfield, Rio Kurosaki, and Nanako Ogura were named to the all-tournament team.
Well done, Coach Sagara and Coach Hirai.
