The Sabers high school and middle school swim teams competed in the annual AISA swim meet, April 9-12, 2015, here in the Sabers pool. The high school team finished in 3rd place behind Seoul International School and Korea International School. The middle school team finished in 4th place.
Top swimmers for the Sabers were high schooler Haruka Sugimoto, who scored 36 points to finish as the third place female swimmer overall, and middle schooler Natsumi Takeda, who scored 27 points to finish as the fifth place female swimmer. Haruka was the 100 meter butterfly champion and Natsumi was the 400 meter free style champion. For more information, please visit the AISA swim meet webpage. Congratulations and thank you, Coach Bertman and Coach Kano. Both the Sabers boys and girls soccer teams traveled to Seoul with high hopes for the season-ending AISA tournaments, April 9-12, 2015. Those hopes, unfortunately, were dashed as both teams finished in 3rd place.
Good luck to Coach Driver, Coach Entwistle, and the Sabers boys soccer team as they travel to Korea International School in Seoul for the AISA soccer tournament, April 10-11, 2015. The Sabers hope to repeat as AISA champions and add to their already impression trophy count: WJAA champions, Sabers Invitational futsal champions, and Sabers Invitational futsal runners-up.
Die-hard Sabers fans can follow the action live.

Results can be found here: http://sabers.senri.ed.jp/hs-futsal.html. The two Sabers teams were labeled A and B, but they were divided equally in talent. Both teams dominated pool play and elimination play, outscoring their opponents by a combined 49-2. SIS 10th grader Hiroto Inui scored at least 15 goals to win the highly coveted Golden Boot award. Congratulations to Coach Driver and Coach Entwistle as they followed up their earlier WJAA soccer tournament championship. Next up, the AISA tournament next week in Seoul. |
