The annual Sabers athletics awards celebration was held Friday, June 6, 2014, in the SOIS theater and cafeteria. In the theater, after a cheerleader performance and a slideshow of Sabers highlight photos, coaches for 19 boys and girls teams made presentations in which they described highlights of the season, thanked managers for their efforts, and awarded Most Improved Player (MIP) and Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards. Then, in the cafeteria, Sabers student-athletes and coaches enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared and served by the SIS PA and OIS PTA.
The culminating event of the evening was the presentation of 2 major two-school athletic awards, the Dr. Fukuda Scholar-Athlete Award and the Sabers Outstanding Athlete of the Year Award.
