Under normal circumstances, the SOIS community - students, parents, faculty, staff - are invited each year to the Sabers awards celebration, held in the theater and cafeteria. Under normal circumstances, over 100 people attend this fun event. Under normal circumstances, the Sabers community comes together to celebrate a successful year of sport.

The circumstances now are not normal, you may have noticed.
Because of the closure of the school due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we did not hold our annual awards celebration in person. This was disappointing to all Sabers athletes and coaches. Still, it gives us great pleasure to announce the 2019-20 Sabers team and school award winners.

We honor our high school student athletes with two kinds of awards:
- three team awards: MVP, MIP, and SSA (Sabers Spirit Award), chosen by each team’s coaches; and
- two school awards: Sabers Outstanding Athlete and Dr. Fukuda Scholar Athlete, chosen by coaches and school administrators.
- SOISでは、チームのコーチ、より選ばれたチーム表彰、すべてのコーチ、学校管理職によって選ばれた学校表彰のふたつの賞をもってハイスクールのスポーツ選手を表彰します。チーム表彰はにはMIPとMVPとSSAがあり、学校表彰には最優秀スポーツ選手賞とドクター福田表彰選手賞とがあります。
